I've got my River Island striped midi skirt and Topshop "Your Son is in Good Hands" tee on today.

I'm back wearing uniform at work now so I'm missing opening up my wardrobe on a daily basis and being able to pick what I want to wear, although it does save me loads of time in the morning #beautysleep

Dull Skies with a Touch of Coral

It's been a truly British week. Gorgeous sunshine to put everyone in the mood for spring and new beginnings, followed by grey skies to remind everyone it's still only the first week in March.

I thought I'd throw on my new coral skater skirt from New Look to bring light to everyone's day! I've teamed it with my H&M Basics striped long sleeve tee. Black tights and Converse as standard!

I'm on day one of my week off so expect lots of outfit updates over the next few days, I am trying to divert my spending by reminding myself what is already in my 3 wardrobes!! Now that's self discipline people. xx

I Love a List...

I'm looking for a cute fitted denim shirt that's a bit darker than the one in my picture. So far I can only find ones with ludicrous spikes or studs all over them. I need to keep it simples if anyone has any ideas?

It's my birthday in a few weeks so I'm starting my usual list of things I've seen that I'm loving. My boyfriend thinks I've got OCD when it comes to lists but I love them- there's a list for every occasion and there's nothing better than when you can tick something off! Maybe he's just worried about my birthday requests ;-) but I'm a difficult girl to buy for, he should appreciate my list assistance!

It's safe to say I'm reaching levels of exhaustion now that are making me delirious. I've even considered purchasing a onesie. Something that I am dead against. I simply do not get the adult baby grow thing, I feel like I'm out on a limb here because the craze is worldwide now but I just think they are ridiculous. There. I've said it now.

Fashion Speaks Volumes

It's gone a little bit crazy recently with slogan tees and I've got to admit I loved my burgundy GEEK tshirt from Topshop right up until the point I've seen a knock off version of it in every other shop. Sorry my friend you have now been demoted to my pyjama drawer...

I've also got this grey drop arm hole top by Tee and Cake for Topshop. I'm a sucker for love and sometimes updating your Facebook status just isn't enough, slap your feelings across your torso too!

We live in a world where everyone is now too lazy to actually ask how you are and instead look for the answers on your social networking site or failing that, by staring at your chest!! Oh I say! 😉

Today I'm wearing and "borrowing"...

I'm in the middle of a set of 7 night shifts so it's a miracle I'm not still in my pyjamas...

It's been a gorgeous sunny day today but it's still a little cold so I'm wrapped up in my Primark chunky knit cream cardi.

I've stolen my mums amazing extra long scarf from Wallis. It smells of her amazing Chanel perfume anyway so it's like a double theft!

I'm also loving my new Clinique Chubby Stick in Super Strawberry.

The Leaves Will be Departing the Trees Soon...

I came back from sunny Portugal last week, having missed the one super hot week in the UK. Typical. As much as I love the sunshine, there is a little part of me secretly inside that loves the idea of A/W being upon us. Wrapping up all cosy, lots of new trends- generally an excellent excuse for new clothes!

My first nod to the cooler season was last Monday when I went from blonde to brunette. I have been blonde, with the assistance of my amazing hairdresser, since I was 14. I had a brunette stint last year so I thought I would take the plunge again. It really is more cost effective as well, getting your roots done every 5 weeks was killing the bank account and I need a new winter coat. Priorities.

I have been on night shifts all week so I have used quieter moments to look at some new clothes for the next few months. A lot of studs and leather knocking about and some cute graphic tees. After all the colour splashes of Spring/Summer, everyone is feeling a bit grungey which I love.

So my next plan is to find the perfect winter coat, I am fancying a fur lined parka and there is a nice camo one in Topshop which I have spied. I am also after the perfect pair of leggings having decided that my Primark ones are just rubbish now. Any offerings most welcome!

Oh and when do you really know when the winter months are here? When Starbucks get their red cups- I get so excited. Yes. I am a loser.

The New 'do...

Happy Campers

I've gotta say...the idea of a camping trip sends me to a place I have spent years avoiding but when my lovely OH suggested the idea a few months ago I have been slowly coming round to the idea so that on Tuesday when the words, "Shall we go camping tomorrow night then?" came out of my City Living mouth, they surprised me just as much as they surprised him.

And that was it. I was commited to a night in a field.

We booked in at a place in Ashbourne in Derbyshire (no, i'm not ready to just pitch up on the side of a hill somewhere...)

I had to call in at my mum's on the way which saw a torrent of abuse about the pink Converse All Stars and denim shorts I was wearing. "Lucy! Where are your wellies??" Well mum, as you know, I have not owned a pair of wellies since I was 8 years old. The connies will be just fine!

My OH turns up looking like Bear Grylls. Oh my god, poor him, how has he ended up with me, he must have thought he was in for a night of moaning, and I say that in a totally unsexy sense.

We arrived and I dutifully watched him pitch our tent. I did offer to help but, of course, he did the gentlemanly thing.

The night was a success anyway, the sky was beautiful, absolutely full of stars and despite the fact the OH slept like a baby even managing to look more comfortable than when we are at home, I was just pleased to make it through the night without having to wake him up because I was scared a bear was coming to the tent door...
